Oh, @
FT_86_SM_GP - for the sake of full disclosure here is some information that I picked up yesterday regarding the brake fluid:
Certain regular BMW drivers mentioned that when they attempted their own fluid flush, everything felt great until they hit the track. There was still air in the system, in the ABS controller, and a shop / dealer with access to the right high pressure hardware can flush the system taking this into account.
I
also spoke to a Toyota tech who was there on the day. He said that with the power of the vehicle off, all the valves are open (even on the ABS unit) so the fluid will flush all the way through and all the air will bleed. Apparently, if the Toyota guys do a bleed, they do it with the normal bleed valves.
Thirdly, if you have already done the fluids, apparently it is possible for them to bleed air from the system but recycle the fluid. So if you want to have it checked out / done by someone else for peace of mind, please do.
Me personally - my car is due for its first service anyway. So I'm taking it in tomorrow and I will ask them to check the brake system for leaks and do a bleed on top of the regular service schedule. When I get the car back I will post any feedback I get here
