My dog (45 lb beagle) rides in the back seat almost every day. I covered the back seat with a fabric shower curtain and black towels to keep it clean. I tried buying a dog seat cover but it fit very poorly. I just fold the front seat forwards and he climbs in, the only difficult part is buckling him in. He also gives me a back massage through the seat as I drive.
