I don't think you'll have any problem with a 45lb dog as long as it doesn't want to hop around a lot.


Since owning the 86 I've taken both of my Newfoundland dogs (clarification for @Tcoat) for rides. Here's Bella getting ready to climb in the back seat to go for a ride. She was just shy of 150lbs. She would lay in the back across the seats with no problem.
