So instead, I started looking for a lower octane map, and found wayno's v33 flattened maps from when he was just getting started adjusting timing. The flattened map pulled as much as 5 degrees and yet, my car runs better above 1.0 load then it ever has. It seems too much timing is a bad thing. It's a bit more sluggish below 1.0 load, but when I open it up, it really takes off! I know this isn't the right way to adjust timing, but it certainly was quick and easy.
As@Kodename47 said find where the knock is. wayno did some specific mods to load limits to correct some issues he had and also to maf scaling not sure they will be applicable to all cars their is some variation in maf sensors, mine is heaps different to waynos andd i dont need to change the lower rpm load limits as he has done. it can make you run lean, not sure if that was done on petrol tunes like in e85.
