This is a WIP, I want to make that clear before I press onwards, there may and probably is better, safer ways to do the things i'm attempting, and if there is feel free to chime in!
Goal
Extend the functionality of the head unit while keeping the interior completely stock in appearance.
Functionality being added- Chromecast
- Raspberry Pi 2 (Games and canbus stuff)
- HDMI port in glovebox
What's needed (for both options)- Chromecast
- Raspberry Pi 2 (With 8gb or higher MicroSD)
- 3x 0.3m HDMI Cable
- 2x 0.3m USB Micro cable
- MHL Cable compatible with your phone
- Cheap 3 input HDMI switch with push button source switch, try to go for the one shown below.
Source power option 1 - Head unit- raspberry Pi Power board with push button power on/off
Source power option 2 - Loom 12V- 12V DC to 4 port 5V USB converter, as pictured below
- 12V relay board with push button switch to toggle relay on/off
- Scotchlok connector
