To revive an extinct thread....
Just did this last night...fortunately my family owns a chrome plating factory with a decent maintenance department with access to some useful tools...
I heated them up pretty hot with a torch as many suggested. Got 3/4 out clean using an impact gun to break them loose. There appears to be loctite on the threads that needs to be heated to a certain temperature in order to free them.
The one I stripped, I just hammered in the next size up *english* (as opposed to the 5mm I was using) allen fitting, heated up even more, then backed it out...no problem. You can't use enough heat on these things. I had my entire calipers warm/hot by the time the screws backed out...
