You should be good to go. I would get something at least x9 widths in the front if I was ordering a custom 3piece setup. Bigger sizes hold their value better and hold meaty 255+ tires and big power better too.
I like my 225 tires (Michelin Pilot Sport 3), that I have wrapped around my TRD SF2 (18x7.5) wheels, they are great at the track and off the track

But yeah you got a point about 18x9 resale value, big power wont be an issue, after I live in Norway (it's a lot more strict than Germany too here), so a turbo or supercharger aint gonna happen, as it is near impossible to get legally, if you're not an millionaire that is

But wouldn't the 18x9 hit my mpg in a bad way, and also my power?
