I noticed that there was a little bit of play as well but I took a closer look and came to a conclusion that the spring is what eliminated the play.
As for your leasing situation, I'd put it back if you can but depending on your dealership, I don't think anyone will notice that there's suppose to be a spring there.

thanks, i have been driving it for over a month like this, and i havent had any problems, but i just wanted to clear my head about the clutch play.
can u push up the clutch pedal from the bottom and it moves up ever so slightly?
