Springs and short shifter are easier than you think, especially with all the really detailed DIY write ups on this forum.
But if you have the cash, socal is home to plenty of trustworthy shops for our cars. I'm going to throw in Autotuned (Monrovia) and Fuzion Teknique (Gardena). Autotuned is run by Young Tea, which most enthusiast should recognize.
