Cool idea. I'd have it follow the lines of the outer edges more. For example, the top "horizontal" line looks off.
If you're worried about sucking water (I think you shouldn't have to worry about hydrolocking since a lot of CAI for cars in general have the filter set way lower), you can always some how incorporate a shield block of some sort. Kind of like how the EVO VIII hoods allowed you to run the vent open, or block it off.
