I had mine sitting incorrectly for a while until I saw this thread and checked it. I bought a Wix air filter that has the rubber/plastic around the edges so it fits better than stock and I got mine to noticeably snap into place and seal all around. You can feel it when its sealed and you can see the two sides of the air box are aligned parallel with each other then its in correctly. Thanks again for this helpful post.
