You can run wider than 235 easy. I ran a 255/35R18 on 18x9 +35 on ProKit. Just need the right camber and offset.

I would test fit the wheel on its own (with compression) and go from there. If you have clearance, then add crash/camber bolts to tuck it in a bit.
A 9.5" wide wheel is an ask with springs, it will be tight.

I fitted 245/35R18 on 18x9+42 for a customer a few weeks ago and they clear the strut (not the ideal offset).
