1) Merely pressing the traction control button once will result in the system reactivating after getting up to speed, but, hold down for 3 seconds will disable all of the nannies and don't reactivate until you turn the car off and then on again.


2) Instead of flashing, pulling the ABS fuse is most effective for permanently disabling the aids, but, it will also disable the ABS. It is up to you, but, for 3 seconds of my life, I will press a button.

And even if you don't want FI and just want to start changing headers and flashing, there are definitely options.
