1. not cumbersome at all. 3 second hold on the button at any time will turn off both traction control and stability control. they stay off until you cycle the power (shut off engine).
2. Can't answer this completely, but i don't think so.

They make power just fine, with boost. since they're an NA engine, high compression, low revving (under 8,000rpm) they respond well to E85 and a reflash but bolt-ons don't do much (exhaust, intake, etc). there are header sets making upwards of 25hp (peak) even without supporting mods, but prepare to spend some serious coin.
