Those of us in the First86 program bought them at sticker price, and really there were no dealer add-on options available at the time. I think the only thing you could get was the upgraded radio and you had to request it.
This is the first (and moving forward only) car I've ever paid sticker price for, and no regrets about having done it. In the end though, Scion pure pricing would have been a deal killer for me if I walked in the showroom and was buying one today. I like the no-haggle part, but it really is not a great deal since it really doesn't reduce the sticker price any, as shown by the Subaru only being marginally more expensive and that can be accounted for by the equipment differences.
In general, it is very rare for me to buy a new car anyway. Of the 25 or so cars I've owned only 4 were purchased new.
