Made my retainer payment today.
I've driven one once but from that I could feel a lot of difference from my bolt-on-equipped fwd rsx.
Read this quote in a review of the brz "it's like your sitting in the car and not on top of it." It hits the nail on the head. People rave about the handling and how solid it is for good reason.
Also for me I was sick of working on older cars and wanted to get something a little easier to maintain.
Almost opted for an s2000 for a while because insurance was a tad cheaper but being it's a little older the loan was going to be much heavier for me.
I decided on the brz (vs frs) for two basic opinionated reasons;
1) the interior is much nicer in the limited brz than a premium brz or frs. I didn't want to cut that corner buying a new car.
2) I wouldn't drive a scion. I don't have loyalty to Subaru, being it'll be my first, but I just generally wouldn't want to drive a scion. I appreciate the frs and other scion models just fine but like I said, opinionated reasons.
Tldr: new, handles/feels great to drive, no rust/excessive wear, creature comfort from this decade, rwd
