If you're running a 135" projection screen or a 120" at less than optimal viewing distance, then sure. There's some benefit. But the salesmen would love to convince you that it's the hot new thing for your 60" TV so they can get their commission.

I had a curved 55" once. It didn't start out that way but the cat knocked it over. Hard to watch with all the lines and pixels that resulted though.
