Of you listen to him in interviews, specifically the one done by CBC, he does most of those types of things for fun, he knows that people will have a laugh when they see his car which is why he does it. I went to a Saturn drives event where he brought his mclaren P1 and his gf brought the 650s, he encouraged people do be around it and every time he passed someone on the highway that gave a thumbs up he slowed down to return the favour! He even invited us all back to his place afterwards! (See his instagram for proof of that day)
I'd rather him share his wealth like that instead of buying a new set of Versace underwear everyday :p
