OS Giken differential oil - Torco RGO + Limited Slip Friction Modifier UOA

Currently I am running the following two oils in my OS Giken mechanical LSD:
  • Torco Racing Gear Oil 80W-90
  • Torco Limited Slip Friction Modifier Type-F

The approximate mixture is 3 bottles RGO, 1 bottle modifier.

My goal with this sample testing is to slowly stretch out the interval of the oil so that there is data on how an extended oil change interval affects wear on this type of aftermarket differential. Most clutch-type LSDs will have the same set of needs: short oil change intervals as dictated by need.

Virgin sample test:

First UOA after approx 5500 miles. Events include:
  • 1x drift event (Vegas Drift Jan 2015)
  • 4x track events (1x Laguna Seca, 1x Buttonwillow, 2x ACS Roval)
  • 2x autocross events
  • Est. 5000 street miles

Note the "generic" oil change interval of passenger car differentials... 58000(!) miles.
