MY Mini ME, RC Models

This thread is for those that want to have a Mini Me and share our experiences with our models. Please respect that, as you would respect any other thread.

That said, there are two models that I know of. One came out right away and is relatively expensive. The other is relatively inexpensive and meant for very young enthusiasts. As I'm not an avid R/C fan, I bought the latter (Fast Lane R/C).

The first order of business was dis-assembly and painting the body to a factory color (Ultramarine, for me) which the car didn't come in. As Ultramarine isn't yet available from automotive paint suppliers, I elected to get close enough for Government work.

Right now, I'm reassembling my car and finding that I should have mapped out where all the little screws go. Not fun this way, do yourself a favor.

Be careful taking the window glass out, there is a wire attached to a copper foil and don't break the tabs off. Comes apart easy enough, but be patient and take your time. As for headlights and tail lights, the manufacturer used a melted plastic form of securing them to the body. I used a Dremel tool and grinding insert to remove them. Be careful not to grind too much.

The mirrors are of a rubbery
material, but the mirror is a foil of some form. Remove carefully with an X-acto or knife blade. I folded one without trying and have figure out a replacement.

More to come.
