Those dudes see so many cars it is just another one to them. As special as it is to you or me to them it is just a job.
As far as scratches go you can do something to it as easily as they can and at least they would be liable. Does shit happen? Sure sometimes but again these guys deal with hundreds of cars a week and you have to trust that they at least try not to get fired for causing damage all the time. I know there are loads of horror stories on here but what we don't see are the millions of cars done a year without a single problem. I personally have had cars serviced at dealers well over100 times and have never once had any issues.




Not getting something fixed under warranty for fear of damage is just plain counter productive.
