It's 0.2" diameter undersized. Is it a lot? No. But, it's enough to make your diff work hard. You'll also get some very, VERY odd cornering behavior with a (torsen) LSD in the rear.
Anyone who's upsized to a 225/45/17 or 255/40/17, or most 18" wheels will likely have VSA kicking in constantly, even in a straight line, if you're going more than a crawl.
