I did read the whole post, and yes, I did, somewhat, take that small quote out of context. And I did iut on purpose. I really wasn't aiming my comment at you, but the quote was such a perfect vehicle for me to lead into my snarky remark about the whole "man machine connection" mentality that is winding through this thread.
BTW, my FRS is a manual, and I have continously owned at least one manual car for 60 years. My DD for over 25 years has been a series of compact pickups, all manuals. My '11 Taco is the first auto tranny truck I have ever owned.
I drive manuals just because I like it. I have no illusions that they are "better". And I really do like electric starters!
