Don't have to worry, but the end result would be the same either way.
I'm building out a Jeep. I was able to make my build decisions based entirely on what I want the Jeep to be able to do. I didn't even have to think about what the nanny state would allow me to do. It's simply not a factor.
It's always sad to see the discussions on the Jeep board where people end up having to spend more money on parts with a CARB sticker or simply can't build what they want because a CARB compliant part doesn't exist.

I laugh heartily at that argument. Los Angeles has a smog problem because of the LA basin. Last I checked, there were actually areas of California that were
outside Los Angeles! Geography!
In fact, 97% of California is not in LA. So your nanny government punishes its entire population for a problem that only affects 3% of its land area. What that tells me is that it's not about smog. It's about control. It's about people in government thinking they know better how you should live your life than you do.
