I checked mine out and in the process, unclipped it from the
upper mounting. If this happens to anyone (damper drops, hangs loosely, ect), it's easy to put back, just make sure to use the
lower hole on the damper (only 1 nub to attach to, one will be unconnected to anything), or your glove box will drop everything out every time you open it.

Jond63, try squeezing both sides of glove box together to take it out completely, the damper may have fallen behind the glovebox.
