correct, oft diagnostic like other devices just clears the latched alarm.

To correct the problem you need to disable the DTC code in the ROM ie the ECU firmware, this requires you flash a changed ROM to the ECU with the DTC disabled.

The OFT tuned roms for headers have the P0420 cat efficiency code disabled.
