I would say that there's a negligible increase in pedal stiffness. The only part that kind of bothers me is the play at the top of the pedal travel now.
Has anyone played with lighter springs just to take the slack out of the pedal?

I certainly wouldn't say it's a negligible increase. The pedal is stiffer than my jeep's aftermarket clutch now. It's not insanely stiff, but it is noticeable in my opinion.
MTEC makes a spring that I'm debating on trying to remove that slack you're referring to.
