Radium engineering makes a universal surge tank that I've seen mounted inside the pocket (with their 45 degree angled bracket.) I cannot for the life of me find the picture though. From the picture though it did look like he could of put the interior panels back in to hide it.
That's a terrible idea. A simple tap on that corner in a race means you're now at serious risk of fire. The surge tank should be placed away from any area that can buckle or crumple.
