You are 100% right. There is a high chance that you will need to replace the tpms sensor also if you use the slime. That is why you have the tire repair kit. Most of the time you can patch a tire on the road in 5-10 mins and use the compressor to fill it. If for some reason you cant then the slime is the last ditch option.

Honestly I am 26 and knock on wood but I have never had a flat tire. I took the spare out of my rsx and drove that for 9 years with out an issue and now my miata does not have one either and so for so good I have not had an issue with that yet either.
