This. Finesse and feel with the clutch is not particularly relevant to autocross, unless you're actively looking to torture your clutch doing the slow-release-while-holding-at-6-grand launch method.
For the idea of leaving that change done for the street and just not wanting to bother with undoing it for an event, I don't really know if that's kosher. If the rulebook doesn't offer anything on the topic, then you're at least in a gray area, and shouldn't be necessarily surprised to find out that it isn't.
Take a few minutes and send a letter to the SEB. That (and a protest committee) are the only rulings that matter.

For the idea of needing/wanting it for the street - the vagueness did bother me at first, but, a month of driving (and none of those DIYs) is all it took to develop a feel for the clutch.
