Despite the fact that your point is entirely out of context, once again you fail to show how this affects the car other than incrementally, besides how your butt dyno perceives it.

Let me rephrase: This does not matter day-to-day. Removing the spare tire simply because you feel that the car performs differently/better in your day-to-day driving, frankly, is dumb. I am sure the car will definitely feel different if end up with a flat and you are stuck waiting for a tow truck.

But then again, you say that half a tank of gas is the same weight. So I guess you just like driving around without a full tank. But hey, only getting around 150 miles (sorry, you're in Canada, 242 km) per half fill-up is totally worth the improved feel, right?

I'm done making counterpoints to your nonsensical points. Good luck with your car. Hope you don't run out of gas or get a flat.
You need to take a leap of faith. 50-60lb rear end weight removal is something you can definitely feel in this small light car, certainly felt at low speed 20km/hr breaking.

At the end of the day:
  • Your spare as compact as it is, is partly so to reduce load on your vehicle. Some vehicles don't even have a spare in order to be as fuel efficient as possible... It appears that manufactures think this little weight makes a difference.
  • Also the truth is that only 50% of the people with spares ever uses them when they have a flat because of the safety and convenience of roadside service.
