Yeah that concept car inflated everyone's expectations way too high, including my own. The real car (while not bad looking) was a letdown after that.

It's funny, if you ever visit the GTI forums, a lot of them say the opposite (would buy a WRX over another VW product). I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
I do like my current GTI though, and I also liked my STI hatch before that. Both good cars in their own right.
