Anyways, had a quick question that I have not been able to find via search.

When I am sitting still, clutched in, and shift to reverse the engine seems to raise its idle speed by several hundred RPM. The second I pull the shifter out of reverse it goes back to normal.

This makes it really annoying to back out of my garage after a cold start, and I was wondering if this is normal, or something unique to my vehicle? I guess if this is normal I just have another reason to get the OFT, haha.

This is my 3rd DBW manual, but I've never had this happen before.

(Btw, that cold start in a one car garage is frickin loud)
Thats normal during cold start warmup phase.
It will do it in forwards gears as well as oposed to neutral.
It probably so it does not stall when cold when you put it in gear.

Once warmup is complete it wont do it.

there are tables in ecu you can modify to stop most of it if you have tuning device.
