No point comparing new vs used for cars and/or parts. GRM magazine runs an annual competition for cars built for less than the dollar value of the current year (ie: $2010 Challenge this year, time not counted). The top cars (evaluate on the drag strip, autocross and a concours), all built for less than $2010, will whip the shit out of any of the cars I've seen/heard about of anyone on this forum.
I thought we are giving up on this anyways...
Stock Scion = Boring
Modded Scion (or any other modded car) = Not boring.
Dragonitti = Faithful and passionate
or Annoyingly stubborn and closed minded
