I add mods to my cars too. Usually stuff you can't see like better suspension components, better sound system, etc. I get that. If you live with the car day in and out and plan on driving it for awhile it's worth it to you.
I am not talking about that though. I am talking about the original owner of this car for example who spent a lot of money and time actually lowering the resale value of his car. And there are lots of them for sale around here and other classifieds who bought the car, spent $10K+ with tons of mods like the ones on this car, and then find themselves selling the car in 1-2 years for a huge loss.
I bet if you look in the for sale area here you will see what I am talking about. Dudes that put $10-20K into their car that cost $25-30K new and are selling it for about what they paid and taking a loss on that $10-20K. And this is not specific to the FT86 platform at all, I see people doing this crap to brand new $30-40K STI's, WRX's, GTI, Focus ST, Genesis Coupe, etc. All the time..
