Definitely! well in response to the 30k on a car thing, paint can still cost a little bit (couple hundred to paint the spoiler?) which isn't much but you know.
But yea if you wanted to do it right should have gone with the paint much stuff and some clear! a little sanding and that can look pretty close to real paint for awhile until you can get some moneys for the real deal.
All about that prep! This guy sprayed this bike with rattle can and clear, finished off with wetsanding and the like, has lasted him several years and what looks to be very well done work.
