Agreed it can be too much sometimes. I went to lunch over the weekend with some co-workers, and one of them who's from London saw me pulling up in my FR-S. He's not really into cars, but he commented to the group that I've got a REALLY nice car. A lot of people in my office drive Porsches, Range Rovers and BMWs, so I tried to explain that it's just a Toyota GT86 in London. Lots of blank looks.
To the random person, I think these cars look much more expensive than they are. I've gotten more random compliments and rubber necking in the FR-S than probably all my previous cars combined (STI, Boxster S, 350z, GTI, etc.)
