Where I was coming from is our previous was a 1998 Nissan 200SX turbo (Australian) rwd which had variable ratio steering. Maybe it was also the much smaller turning circle but it seemed to turn into parking spaces between cars much more easily. Even after 2 years with the '86 I am still overshooting. I keep wanting to nudge the tail around with my hip.

All of which has nothing to do with the track work you are doing of course.

I enjoyed reading your comparison thanks. I took a VW Golf GTI for a spin and loved the power & torque like we had in our 200SX but lack in the '86. I liked the interior etc etc but I found it was no fun. There's a bit of magic in the '86.
