I got pulled over at a speed trap several years ago and will never forget the exchange:
Cop - "Excuse me sir sorry to wave you over but do you know how fast you were going"
Me - "I was doing about 90 (80Kph limit) but so was the rest of the traffic so I was just keeping up"
Cop - "Yes sir 90 is pretty much standard along here and normally I wouldn't give you a second glance but we have had some problems so we are cracking down"
Me - "OK no problem I will keep it at 85 from now on"
Cop - "Well I would appreciate that. Do you have any tickets or charges?"
Me - "Nothing ever"
Cop - "Well we will just chat here for a couple of seconds more since my boss is watching"
Me - "What shall we chat about?"
Cop - "I don't know just nod your head and look remorseful"
Me - "Oh I can do that"
Cop (stands up from car and says loudly) - "Thank you for your patience sir just remember slow it down a little"
I drive away thinking "What the hell just happened?"
