Auto Mfgs have goals for each model outside of straight sales volume. Some are Halo cars, others are line-up fillers, or market exploration, etc etc.

Guess what, the twins absolutely destroy these sales numbers. So it doesn't matter what a journalist or some random forum poster believe a MFGs goals to be. If the MFG says they're making a 2nd gen car, they're probably going to make it.
