The BRZ ts improved it through revised suspension, arms, bushings etc. It also uses the front strut brace and they used different bushings within the steering rack and made other changes to sharpen the steering response.
Called it hysteresis steering I believe. There's an article about it from motor trend which talked about it.
Again, I'm not saying it's a bad car, but I welcome a tuning division improving and highlighting the car's strong points with open arms.
