The 30 K cleaning is under optimal conditions but depending upon Mike's local conditions it could be clogged (at least a bit). Over the years I have frequently had to clean/replace filters well under the recommended mileage just from all the sand and salt dust that flies around when the snow melts.
Not hard to do and worth checking.
