Right. But people who are dropping $40K+ for a car often don't want to build and unbuild their car. I have that kind of money, but I don't want to go buying, building, then dismantling and selling a bunch of crap. It's ridiculous.

Imagine if Porsche made the GT3 available as a collection of aftermarket parts. It's a joke of a business model in this day and age.

The other reason it's dumb is because the OEM can save the cost of the original parts that they are replacing, and get discounts on the hardware in volume. Other companies make a lot of profit on uprated versions of their cars.

Anyway, whatever. It's Toyota/Subaru's car. They can do what they want with it.
