Most auto stores will loan you an OBD II scanner and it takes less than 5 minutes to read oout the codes.

OR you can spend $10 on an ELM357 ODB-II tool on ebay and download the free app "Torque" for a droid phone.
You can read out & reset the codes and log data for less than $15
