Yes, but if 0-60 is the question of the day, I wouldn't have chosen a FT86 in the first place with any transmission. haha! But that being outside of this topic...

You're right though, and if a driver is capable of launching and shifting precisely and ultra-quick in each shift, the manual will have an advantage, but many of us non-drag racers don't like to slap-shift that fast, unless there is a shiny stick on wooden base and cash prize at the end of the 1/4 mile or a 20 min stint on the local track.

This AT is precise, durable, and consistent even if your grandmother floored it out of a green light, as long as she can hold the gas pedal there.

But again, I'll be fair in saying, I got an AT because this is my daily driver, and was keen on playing with electronic shifting car for the next several months. And not dismissing the 6 on the floor manual, which I plan to own within 24 months for my track use second FRS.
