I was kind of curious about the throttle body size as well. I have one of the TRD S/Cs (not twinscrew, but TVS 1320), and the kit Magnuson/TRD developed uses a 15mm larger than stock TB (stock is 65mm, the kit uses an 80mm TB). It's a roots blower but similarly sized to the Sprintex 335.

I've always looked at the IC as being the restriction with the Sprintex kits, but maybe that's not accurate.

People put filters in the engine bay because it's easy, although the Sprintex kits re-use the stock airbox so it shouldn't really be necessary.

Stock intake setup becomes a restriction over 300hp, apparently according to cosworth engineers.
