It is a bit sad that. The tyre wasn't made for the Prius. It doesn't really get that good reviews for fuel efficiency.
Besides, commuting in rush hour traffic I have managed to average 39mpg, which is not that far off what a Prius would do. The fuely average for the Prius isn't all that good IIRC, around 46mpg which most good small diesel cars will do these days.
Note: I am using UK Gallons for the mpg as I don't understand US gallons and can't be bothered to covert.
Also note: following the 39mpg trip I washed my petrol head out with a 21mpg run through the hills the next day.
Compared a budget tyre the Primacy holds the road very well. I'm sure you can buy stickier tyres but that doesn't mean the Primacy's are bad, they are far from it. They are also hard wearing and I believe they may come with a 30,000 mile warranty in some locales.
