I wouldn't worry about that as much as having a radically different engine like a Wankel rotary. Lesser techs would be scared off by them and expert techs would see you as a open wallet.
Made owning a RX-7 with screwy apex seals a pain when you don't have the time or tools handy to fix it yourself.
