I don't mean this to be taken as a great offense, but it kind of sounds like you had the wrong rationale for purchasing the car to begin with - or for any major financial commitment.

I can't tell you if your proposal is a 'good idea' or not, as no one here understands your specific situation, and the circumstances around it. If you have to ask this to an internet forum with people's you've never engaged with previously, then maybe you need to re-evaluate your decision, and the reasoning behind it - but I guess that brings us back to my first point.

GL with it, and whatever you end up doing; this platform is definitely a car that wants to be enjoyed, so by all means trade it in if that isn't the relationship you have with it; it does lack some practical amenities, which can make it a difficult car to justify having if you're not passionate about it, or enjoying it for what it is.
