It's the whole design package and presence of the Z06 that I'm looking at. That, or C7 Z51 for the more sensible approach. A built C5 (or C6) is arguably the best value for a high HP track car. With a capable driver at the wheel, you need some kind of Cup car to legitimately challenge those cars. I just can't seem to get there though . . . Now, the upcoming GT 350, maybe a different story.


Funniest track video in my little world was my friend in a Lotus Exige Cup getting absolutely toasted by a C6 ZR1 on the straights at VIR, and then catching the Vette at every corner. 300+ hp and torque differential is NOT better than a competent driver in a well-balanced car. Leaving driving skills aside, the interesting thing is that the Exige is so good, even average drivers pick up lots of time. Getting it to 10/10ths though, takes a special person.
